Fraud, phishing and impersonation notice.

Like many genuine financial firms, Wrotham Partners can have its name and branding misused by fraudsters. This notice explains how to confirm you are dealing with us, the tactics to watch for, what we will never ask of you and how to report a suspicious approach.

Wrotham Partners is easy to check

Wrotham Partners is a capital advisory firm and placement agent based in London. Our only website is wrothampartners.com, our team only uses @wrothampartners.com email addresses, and everyone who works with us appears on our Team page. We are not a bank or a deposit-taker, we do not lend, and we never hold client or investor money. Capital moves directly between investor and company, so there is never a reason to send money to us or to anyone acting in our name. Our Credentials and Verification pages set out how to check us independently.

Why criminals borrow real firms' names

Impersonation fraud borrows the credibility of a genuine business. Fraudsters copy the names, logos and staff of real advisory firms to run fake job offers, fake investment opportunities and advance-fee schemes. Almost every established financial firm faces this. An impersonation attempt says nothing about the firm whose name is used. What matters is whether the approach you received actually came from us, and that is quick to check.

How impersonation usually works

Fake recruitment and job offers

Unsolicited job or internship offers that ask for personal documents, upfront fees or access to your accounts. Genuine Wrotham Partners recruitment comes only from @wrothampartners.com addresses, and we never charge candidates anything.

Fake investor or capital-raising approaches

Messages from people posing as our advisers, offering guaranteed investors or returns and asking for a fee to release them. We never guarantee outcomes and never ask anyone to pay to release, unlock or guarantee funds.

Cloned websites and lookalike domains

Sites that copy our branding on another address, or emails from domains with a letter swapped, added or a different ending. Our only website is wrothampartners.com.

Fake social media profiles

Profiles claiming to represent us, or personal accounts messaging you about money. Our official company profile is our LinkedIn company page. Confirm any other approach with us before you respond.

What Wrotham Partners will never do

  • Ask you to pay a fee to release, unlock or guarantee funds.
  • Ask you to transfer money on our behalf, or take custody of your money.
  • Ask for your passwords or access to your accounts.
  • Charge a candidate any fee, or ask for gift cards or vouchers.
  • Pressure you to decide immediately or to keep an approach secret.

If an approach in our name does any of these things, it is fraudulent. Do not act on it, and please tell us.

Our official channels

Website: wrothampartners.com. Email: addresses ending in @wrothampartners.com. Social: our LinkedIn company page. Anything else claiming to be Wrotham Partners should be checked with us through the website before you respond, share information or send anything of value.

Reporting a suspected impersonation

First, tell us through the Contact page or at contact@wrothampartners.com, using a new email typed by hand rather than replying to the suspicious message. We will confirm quickly whether the approach was genuine, and your report helps us act against it. Then report it to the police or the national fraud reporting service in your country, and to the platform where the contact happened. Keep the original message, including the sender's address, links and any documents, as these help investigators. If you have already shared bank details or sent money, contact your bank immediately.
